Upon finishing the Twisted Love Mitts and Twisted Love Socks, my test knitter said “You should make a cowl!” I took her comment one step further with this cowl/scarf. The joined button band makes this cowl easy to wear as either a scarf or cowl. You can knit it to the length you like best. You could even wear it partially buttoned for
comfort.

The best thing about this cowl? You can make it shorter than I did so it hugs your neck. Or you can make it longer so that it is more like a scarf. You can skip the buttons and and knit the cable bands plain for a fun scarf edging. Or you could knit the cable bands to both raw edges and finish this cowl with one big cable band running up the middle. Or you could even kitchener the live edges together and skip the cable bands entirely!

So many possibilities.

As it can be hairy to follow multiple charts, I have presented the charts in two different formats to help you complete your Twisted Love cowl. This pattern is meant for an adventurous intermediate to advanced knitter. Please read the entire pattern before beginning.

Yarn: 2 Skeins Rowan Pure Wool Worsted, 209 yards, 100% Superwash Wool, #120 Redcurrant, approx. 300 yards needed.

Needle: US 6 (4 mm) Hiya Hiya Steel Interchangeable needles or needles to obtain gauge

Gauge: 4.8 stitches per inch (spi) and 6 rows per inch (rpi) OR 19.2 stitches & 24 rows to 4 inches/ 10 cm in stockinette (unblocked) Please note that this yarn relaxes generously.

Size: 33.5 inches long by 8 inches wide (customizeable)

To alter the size: Adjust your gauge to increase or decrease the width of the scarf as needed. Please note that this pattern is not as stretchy due to the twisted stitches and cables. An advanced knitter
could also remove or exchange cable patterns to increase or decrease the size. Alter the length as desired to create a short cowl or long scarf.

Notions: 6 pretty buttons, 6 plain buttons, tapestry needle
