Remember the 1980s, when leg warmers first became popular? This is a quick and easy little Christmas gift ini to please a young woman not yet born when leg warmers were first a fashion statement. Over a pair of tights or jeggings, they provide a cushy layer of comfort. The twisted rib pattern, which is very easy to work, is wonderfully elastic and accommodates legs of different circumferences. It is also capable of doing comfortable double duty under a pair of rain boots as boot liners.

Total yardage used - A little over 100 yards of Teal and 77 yards of Charcoal. The reason for the difference is that more of the teal colorway was used after the increase for the calf.

I worked both leg warmers at the same time using Magic Loop, but you may work them separately or with double-pointed needles - your preference. For this reason, I bought two skeins of each colorway, but if you don’t have a use for the extra yarn or are economising, one skein of each color will be sufficient, as long as you don’t lengthen the pattern or make the calves significantly wider.
