These are the Two Skews (or Piers and Petra), the Crocheted Skewed Distributions. The Two Skews are based on the shapes of the Skewed Distributions, also known as Left-hand/ Negatively skewed distribution (tail on the left) and Right-hand/ Positively skewed (tail on the right).

This characteristic was originally described by the Pearson Moment Coefficient of Skewness (hence the names Piers and Petra!).

You only need about 20g of yarn to make each of your very own Skews, who measures just over 3” when finished.

As well as your choice of yarn, you will also need stuffing, and a tapestry needle.

This pattern is beginner/intermediate friendly, requiring you to know single crochet (USA)/ double crochet (UK), and how to increase.

The Two Skews were made as part of a Masters dissertation and likes to help spread his love of statistics!

The Two Skews have several other friends who are also crocheted probability distributions - see the facebook page for further information about their travels and to share your photos!
