All for a button…the inspiration for this button neck coat were handmade buttons given to me by a dear friend. The wave design of the button is mirrored in the 7 st. slip stitch repeat wave pattern. The coat is knit on circular needles (to accommodate lots of stitches) from the back to the front. Sleeves are knit at the same time as you transition from back to front. The collar and button band are knit up in an alpaca/wool lopi double-thickness but could easily be the mule spinner yarn. Buttons are at neck edge and 2 for the collar but could easily be button all the way down.

The coat is meant to be large (at least 3 in. positive ease). You’ll note that my beautiful model Ash is 9 month pregnant and the coat looks quite nice!
