This is a top-down raglan pullover crocheted in the round. Because the yarn is 4-ply (and could also be 3-ply), you get more yards for your money, reducing the cost of buying good quality materials. The textured stripes are in up and down stitch, crunch stitch, and double crochet framed by front loop half double crochet.

In the photos you can see:

A dark brown sweater crocheted with 4-ply yarn. It is size Small (42”) and is modelled with zero inches of ease.

An orange sweater crocheted with 3-ply yarn, Cascade 220 Fingering. It is size Large (46”) and is modelled with 4” of ease.

My design goal was to create a sweater that men could wear with finer yarn so it had more drape (less stiff) and didn’t feel too heavy to wear for extra comfort.

I think this sweater would look great on women, too!

I wrote the pattern to make it easy for crocheters to customize it. That was another goal of mine: create something that could be hacked for people’s individual needs.
