“Ursa Major”, the greater she-bear, is a nod to all of the women that provide guidance and support to the world.

The Giver naturally takes care of others, so this hat is a mindful accessory that returns the favor, by taking care of the Giver. Knit bottom up, Ursa Major has a soft and warm double-knitted brim, and a reversible body pattern, to provide for ultimate comfort and versatility. The pattern is an effortless, meditative knit that provides the Giver with well needed time for herself.

Sample Size:
Fits head circumference 19-22” (48- 56cm)

Larger hat than 22” (56cm)
If you are looking to make a larger hat, but only have one skein avail- able, you may want to change the brim from double-knitting to a sim- ple 1x1 ribbing with a simple long-tail cast-on, to adjust for the extra yarn needed.

The pattern is worked in multiple of 4 sts, so if you are looking to in- crease the hat in size, always cast on a multiple of 4 sts, such as 140, 144, 148, and so on.
