The Yuha shawl was made for those moments of transition, when the heat of day cools and the rich red sun dips toward the horizon. Worked from the bottom up, this triangular shawl can be knit as large as you like — be it bandana-sized for a night out or a cozy cocoon for tired kiddos. Inspired by the multicolored layers of rich terroir, Yuha balances interest and ease with its dual stripes and contrasting columns of texture. Written for both DK weight Arbor or Dapple and fingering weight Peerie, you are sure to find vibrant colors that speak to your heart.

Construction

  • This shawl is worked flat from the bottom up with increases worked on WS rows.
  • The main stitch pattern consists of stockinette stitch interspersed with garter stitch columns.
  • Four total sizes are offered, two worked in DK weight and two in fingering weight yarn. Each size may be worked in two or three colors. The shawl may be finished with an optional crochet edging around the entire shawl edge for additional refinement.
  • The pattern includes instructions for adjusting the length and width of the shawl.
  • Shawl is reversible; consider using the Felted Join for invisible ends.
