This pattern has been re-released as part of the new book She Made Them Her Own: The Best of Trudy Van Stralen.

Not only was Trudy a knitwear designer, she also designed beaded necklaces and other jewelry. Her family and friends were the grateful recipients of these pieces. It was only a matter of time before Trudy designed a garment with beads knit into it. The 5-stitch cable in Valerie was the perfect pattern for incorporating beading. Valerie was originally designed to be knit in the MerLin Sport Weight yarn, and is equally as stunning in Gems Fingering Weight. The beads are optional, and worked on the front of the garment only. Valerie can be worn anywhere, anytime.
