Fingering weight fingerless mittens with folding cuffs at the wrists, fingers and thumbs for temperamental weather days.

Sizes: Adult unisex S (M, L) to measure 19½cm (22cm, 24½cm) or 7¾” (8½”, 9½”) around the palm above the thumb.
Choose the next size larger than your palm measurement for a comfortable unstretched hand fit.

Yarn: One skein of fingering weight yarn (400m or 437y/100g)

Needles: 5 x 2.25mm (US1) DPNs or size to obtain gauge

Blocked gauge: 8.5s x 12.5r = 1” x 1” in stockinette in the round
The row gauge isn’t crucial as the length of the various sections can be easily adjusted.

Other materials: 2 stitch markers, 25cm (10”) length of scrap yarn, tapestry needle

Required skills: Knitting in the round with DPNs, Old Norwegian cast on (also known as the German Twisted cast on)*, increasing and decreasing, putting stitches on hold, backwards loop cast on*, picking up stitches*, binding off
