This is a cuff-down ribbed sock with a heal flap construction. The pattern on the heel flat is a slipstitch pattern and the stitches on the bottom of the sock is in plain stockinet. The sock has a rounded toe decrease, which is accelerating at the end so that it does not become pointy. I find that this combination fit my foot well.

In the pattern below, the sock is knitted using a DK sock yarn on needles 3.5 mm (US 4) for a European female size 37 - 40 (US 7.5 - 9) and a European male size 41 - 46 (US 8 - 13). You may, however, use the general principles of this pattern for any size foot or yarn. At the end of the pattern, I give some tips on how to modify the pattern to fit different sizes and shapes of the foot, as well as different yarns.
