DIFFICULTY: advanced beginner (simple stitches, a lot of assembly/sewing)
10+ years / small adult
This is a crochet pattern for a horned viking helmet. The pattern is written, abbreviated in parts (with explanations) and features 80 color photos to further illustrated steps of the pattern. It comes with 9 different sizes from newborn to XL adult, all sizes come with their own two-page pattern.
The hat can easily be customized with different colors, the horns attached higher or lower or turned upside down, lengthened or shortened, etc.
I used Bernat Super Value to create the pattern, but any medium 4 size yarn will work out just fine as long as the gauge is correct.
Yarn: worsted or aran weight Medium 4 yarn, yardage depends on hat size, yarn used for pattern photos is Bernat Super Value yarn in the listed colors, any colors can be substituted:

colorB: contrast, 40-125 yards, Clay
colorC: horns, 25-100 yards, Natural
Hooks: size H/5mm, size G/4mm
Pins or saftey pins
Polyester stuffing (washable), such as Poly-Fil
