I first made this hat at the request of one of my friends who came with the brief - hey Pam can you make me a Viking style hat with ear flaps and horns - erm ok then. After shying away from it for a few weeks I finally made his hat and he loved it, and so did so many others after seeing it on social media they inundated me with requests for this hat. I simply can’t keep up with orders so would love it if you guys made your own and for others too.

It’s a simple pattern spilt into 4 sections but you do need to be able to knit flat and in the round on dpns. The herringbone pattern is a favourite of mine but can take a little getting used too. There are a wealth of videos on the net showing you how its done just make sure you are watching instructions for an odd number of stitches version as there are a few different ways of doing it.

I hope you have fun mixing up the colours and I would love to see you finished creations.
