This hat is part of a series of designs I’m writing while I de-stash and make Christmas gifts. It is available for free!

A pattern of vines wrap in each direction around this hat, using only a small amount of the contrast color. The pattern is bold enough to be a man’s or women’s hat. For larger sizes use thicker yarn and/or needles. For a med/large mens hat you may want to add another repeat of the pattern. The leaf pattern is charted, and adding another repeat to the pattern to make the hat larger shouldn’t be a big problem.

To minimize the appearance of the jog in the stripes at the beginning of each solid colored round, you can try this technique:

One of my favorite hats to date, was hard to sell the original, but I can always make another.

Happy knitting!
