Volary is a pattern for fingerless or full mittens. Inspired by the love of drawing upside down W birds on all my drawings as a child, the stitch pattern featuring the cabled birds on the back of the hands, reminisces of those days. The cuff features a feather inspired lace to complete the theme.

Sizes are available to fit;
Small - 7” or 18cm hand circumference,
Medium - 7.5” or 19cm hand circumference,
Large - 8” or 20cm hand circumference.

I have used merino wool, dk yarn from the Knitting Goddess in her Sapphire colourway but a similar soft, smooth dk weight wool yarn could easily be used as a substitute providing you reach the required gauge.

Fingerless mittens require approximately;
110 - 120 metres or 120 - 145 yards.

Full mittens require approximately;
130 - 150 metres or 145 - 165 yards

Additionally you will need;
-Double pointed needles to reach gauge and a set 2 sizes smaller (for fingerless version only),
-A cable needle
-3 Stitch markers

I love feedback and seeing pictures so please do share your work and message me if you would like to.

I love supporting other small businesses so I am happy for the pattern to be used for individuals to sell hand knit completed items. Please do not distribute the pattern itself or use for large scale production.
Thank you all x
