These lacy mitts were inspired by an historic mitten design, Pattern #11, from Home Work, a Choice Collection of Useful Designs for Crochet and Knitting Needle, (ii). It is as lovely and functional today as it was when the young women emigrants arrived in Canada to begin life as pioneers in the 1800’s.
