A sock worked primarily in rib, with a thin purl line starting at the back of the leg and continuing down to the toe. Gusset increases are done along this line in pattern.

The heel flap is worked back and forth across the sole of the foot, with the gusset decreases done on the sole. The sock has a flap and gusset heel with the heel flap on the sole. The pattern includes the option for either a ribbed sole or a stockinette sole.

Pattern finishes with the toe decreases being done in the middle of the instep and sole, with the center (purl) stitch being grafted as a purl stitch.

This pattern works well with variegated yarns.
