About the sock:

This pattern is designed as a top down sock with a simple slip stitch heel and a basic knit foot. The lace itself is also far less complicated than it appears and is easily memorized. This sock was originally constructed on DPNs, but could easily be accomplished with the two at a time or circular needle method.

This pattern is suitable for beginning sock makers, although having completed at least one previous sock would be a benefit for understanding basic sock shaping. A rudimentary understanding of lace stitches would also be useful.

This pattern does run a bit large, so size down if you come between sizes.

About the donation:

All proceeds from this design will be donated to the Standing Rock Sioux for the anti-DAPL protest and the water protectors.

After the resolution of the DAPL protest, proceeds from this pattern will continue to be donated to Honor the Earth.

Update 2/11/17 Donated $15 so far to Standing Rock! Hooray!

Update 2/22/17 Total of $25 donated to Standing Rock. Pattern is now running on a promo where you can get it free. Details:

As the camps are being evicted today, my heart is breaking. In honor of all the water protectors who have fought for clean water and tribal rights-- and for the fight still ahead-- I’m running a promo where you get thus pattern free until February 28th.

But in taking the pattern, please consider donating to the legal defense funds for Standing Rock. (Here’s a Twitter thread with some good places listed: link. As there are other comments included, you might have to scroll and I can’t be certain of all the content of comments made by others, but Dr Keene is amazing herself.) Or donate to another indigenous organization like Honor the Earth.

I still stand with Standing Rock, for clean water and indigenous rights and I hope you do too. Love, light and peace.

Update 2/23/17: Wow! I guess the pattern got shared which is just wonderful!! I’ve even gotten some purchases and notices about additional donations (done independently) which just fills my heart with joy. I’ll be doing a mass donation on Sunday with whatever funds come in over the weekend and send out an update then hopefully with a requested printer friendly pattern too.

Update 3/1/17: Promo is now done and in the process we raised $100 total ($75 during the promo, $25 previously) for Standing Rock!! So awesome!! The $75 raised during the promo went to Sacred Stone Legal Defense Fund. Thanks to everyone who donated!!
