At first, my plan for this project was to use short-rows to create the asymmetrical shape, but it would have been too complicated a pattern. Then I tried to use entrelac and combine different sizes of mitered squares. Finally I decided to use an arrangement of feather and fan. The resulting pattern uses a simple method that is pretty easy once you get the hang of it. The shawl is made of nine panels of feather and fan of varying lengths, which create the asymmetrical shape.
