This warm and fluffy Wedding Afghan is perfect for a wedding present as it incorporates hearts, X’s and O’s, and intertwining cables that merge to form rings. The Cable Pattern tells the story, in knitting, of separate lives, coming together, then getting married with wedding rings.

Using Size 17 circular needles (29” or longer) makes knitting this afghan relatively quick to finish.

The Heart Pattern is written in stockinette stitch and reverse stockinette stich.

The X’s and O’s are created using cable stitches.

The Cable Pattern uses complex cable stitches, and increasing and decreasing on purl stitches.

The patterns are written out, but there is also a 4-page color chart to help with the stitching. Note that the chart was NOT written with standard knitting chart codes. This chart was created using cross-stitch software, so it is preferable to follow the written instructions as well as the chart for a complete set of instructions.
