Light-as-air striped shawl is knit in a drop-stitch garter pattern with a gathered peplum and shawl collar. Lovely enough for a movie star.

Construction notes: Collar and peplum shaping are worked after knitting by adding, on the inside, a few rows of slip stitch crochet - with more gathers at the collar for a nice ruffly front and not as many across the back for a comfortable fit. Adjust as desired. Shawl can be made with or without knit-in fringe.

Kits available at Sunday Knits in 3 colorways.
Pattern includes suggestions for yarn and color substitution.

If trying to figure how much yarn you’ll need of each color, the following may be helpful:My finished shawl weighs a scant 122 grams. With about 100 rows, that’s 1.2 gm per row, or about 5.5 m (6 yd) per row.
If you’re using 13 colors and switch every 2 rows, there will be 8 rows or 44 m of each color.
