This pattern is for any weight yarn! This swirly hat pattern can be made with any gauge, fitted or beret style, slouchy or not, custom sized to your head, with buttons or without, with a pointed tip or not. With all these options, you can make it over and over, use up hat-quantity yarn leftovers, or random single skeins, making a totally different hat each time.

This hat is constructed from the top down, twisted stitches swirling outwards with yarn-over increases, until the hat body is the appropriate width and height for a custom fit. The gauge is measured directly on the hat once enough fabric has been knit, and measurements are then calculated using that gauge. The brim is knit on, sideways around the hat bottom, with decreases attaching it to the hat and essentially binding off the hat at the same time.

The pattern is an 18 page PDF, formatted for easy screen reading with a 3 page no-pictures essentials-only section for printing. The pattern includes process photos throughout, step-by-step instructions and photo tutorials for the twisted stitches, and detailed help with the basic math to find your custom-sized stitch count and height measurements to make your ideal hat size and shape. The brim section is charted.

This pattern is part of Remixed - the full Remixed collection is $20, making the 8 patterns $2.50 each, and when you buy the collection, you are also pre-ordering the Remixed ebook, which will be packed with recycled yarn making tutorials! (See the leethal blog for ebook details and updates.)
