Skill Level:
Intermediate or advanced beginner.
To work this pattern you should be familiar with circular knitting on double pointed needles with two colors.

Materials:
The sample was knit in Bartlettyarns sport.
510 yards main color and 230 yards contrast color for all sizes.
Size 1 or 2 US needles or size to obtain gauge.

If you choose substitute a yarn make sure it’s between 100 and 120 yards per ounce and is 100% wool or a wool/nylon blend.

Gauge:
Approx. 7.5 - 8 sts = 1”

Notes:
Knit from the top down.
Included is a clear and complete chart for the stranded color work designs.
In addition, there are separate, clear and readable charts for the main motif in each size so you don’t have to guess how to fit the design into a small, medium or large sock.

The pattern is written for five needles (the sock on 4 and knitting with the fifth). You may also use 4 needles.

I also suggest (though it’s not necessary) knitting both socks at the same time. This requires an extra set of needles or the Magic Loop, 2 at a time method.
