Winters weather can be changeable. You venture out and it’s clear and cold - the next minute your face is freezing! I wanted a balaclava that didn’t always look like one.

This hat / helmet liner / balaclava fits the bill. Fold up the balaclava-face mask section and you have a hat with a thick ribbing to keep your ears warm. Down, you’re sheltered from the winter winds and cold.

The slightly slouchy hat begins with a 2x2 ribbed cowl transitioning to the warm thermal stitch hat.

Tip for wearing as a hat.
Make the first fold of the brim to the inside of the hat, then fold up to meet the body of the hat. That’s the best way to make sure the face opening is hidden and doesn’t gap.
