Wing Commander Hastings
WING COMMANDER HASTINGS TOY DOLL KNITTING PATTERNS
Chocks away chaps! Wing Commander Hastings is ready to take to the skies!
THE PATTERN INCLUDES: Row numbers for each step so you don’t lose your place, instructions for making Hastings, 7 photos, a list of abbreviations and explanation of some techniques, a materials list and recommended yarns. The pattern is 5 pages and written in English.
TECHNIQUES: The doll is knitted flat on straight knitting needles. You will need to cast on and off, knit, purl, work increases and decreases, change colours at the ends of a row (knit stripes) and sew seams. The helmet is finished with a single crochet border using a crochet hook, but if you are not sure how to crochet a border you could add a white trim using blanket stitch embroidery instead. The goggles are made from a single crochet chain which is sewn onto the helmet, but if you could embroider these in black yarn using chain stitch embroidery if you prefer.

- A pair of straight 3.75mm knitting needles (US 5)
- A 3.75mm (US F/5) crochet hook to work the helmet trim and goggles
