I have been knitting some linen stitch squares to eventually turn into a blanket and wanted to incorporate this great way to mix colours into something more immediate (the squares will take a while!) and wearable.

Koigu is fabulous for colour and I had a few skeins - some that I had used in a sample shawl and some that I had on hand but hadn’t used yet.

Thus - a cowl!

Winter’s Better when you are warm and wrapped in a beautifully hand dyed cowl. Linen stitch, two-colour knitting, finished off with a knitted picot cast-off worked in a multi-colour yarn lighten up the dark days of a snowy dreary winter. It’s all about colour here (and some textural changes to show off the colours in the yarn.)

Background (blues) is 1 almost complete (50g) skein and the 2 accent colours (the green and the multi are both about 25g)
