Wobble Bass
A big chunk of sales will be donated to an organization doing good somewhere in the world—click to my designer page (Lee Meredith at the top of this page) to find details about where current sales will be going.
This pattern is for any weight yarn! A stretchy garter stitch gender-neutral hat, with lots of size and shape flexibility in any weight, a wobbly braided cable wrapping around the base and over a single vertical stripe.
This hat can be knit up in any gauge, different weights making for different looks - make the default adult size, or adjust a few numbers for a custom size, or a slouchy style, or a pointed top, if you like.
The cables come undone and blend into the plain garter stitch back on both ends, and they twist up over the contrasting color stripe with some stranded colorwork in that one section. The rest of the hat is a quick and easy knit, especially if you work the cables with no cable needle (tutorial is included!). A provisional cast-on and grafting at the ends finishes it off for a completely seamless back side.
The cables are both written and charted. Full photo tutorials are included for cabling without a cable needle, working the colorwork wedge, and provisional cast-on, with thorough instructions of all other techniques, progress photos of the hat construction, and lots of detail on custom sizing.
Check out the Knitted Wit etsy shop for Wobble Bass yarn sets!! (pairs of skeins in the color combos from the samples, plus more, in 3 different bases - 2 full skeins means you can make 2 hats!)
