This is a quick-and-dirty plain vanilla sock pattern to fit a child approximately 4-5 years old (will fit foot length approx 7” and circumference approx 6.5”)

The name comes from the speed with which I knitted up the socks. I cast on the cuff at the beginning of a train journey at 11am, and grafted the toe of the first sock on the platform at 2.45pm. Extrapolating up meant that, in theory at least, the complete pair should be possible within one working day, although I wouldn’t recommend anyone try knitting for 8 hours solid!

This is my go-to pattern for socks for my sons.

Use 2.5mm needles in the round and fingering weight sock yarn.
