This was my first experience with Plymouth Yarn Gina. I really wanted the yarn to stand out, but I wanted to do something other than a plain rib or stockinette so I played with a different of ribbing that I had seen and I am loving both the yarn and the look.

If you want a taller cowl, just continue to the height you like. If you are using Plymouth Gina, then you will need 2 skeins.
If you want the cowl tighter or longer, the pattern is in multiple of 3 + 3 sts so you can adjust the length accordingly. Example: If you want it a little tighter on your neck, then bring it down to from 108 co to maybe 102. That would take out 2 rib repeats.
