My mother’s feet are rather different sizes and i’m going to try to knit to fit!

Using size 1 (2.25mm) needles, Guage is 6.5 st/ inch.

Left Foot: to fit a very wide foot. Circ 9”. Toes are almost as wide as foot.
Cast on 33.
Row 1: knit
Row 2: inc. 4 (37)
Row 3-4: knit
Row 5: inc 4 (41)
Row 6-7: knit
Row 8: inc 4 (45)

Length is 9 “ total.

Right foot: circ 9”, length 10”
Cast on 18, inc 4 twice, then inc only on toe side, alternating inc and knit row.

Used fish lips heel.

Increased stitches on leg rather than needle size.

Switched to 2.5 for 2x2 ribbing at end.

YAY! Report is that they fit perfectly!
