Notes

Looking for a pattern that will make good use of this soft, and very unusual, acrylic/linen blend. I didn’t want anything that needs major blocking, since the acrylic won’t hold that, and I’m also wary of rolling/curling. This should be a good solution, as the dropped stitches will allow for openness and drape without being actual lacework. Also, hooray for mindless knitting in stressful times!

So, I was operating on the assumption that half of four skeins equals two skeins -- but apparently not all skeins are created equally, because I increased for two skeins’-worth of yarn, and then decreased, but didn’t have enough yarn to make it to the final tip. I had to get creative. I chopped off the STARTING tip of the shawl, and picked out stitches to get to live loops, then grafted my newly-shortened end to my not-gonna-make-it end to make a cowl. This worked well, and the result is super wearable. Yay! (It’s long enough to wrap around my nexk 3 times as a cozy cowl, or 2 times as more of an infinity scarf look.)

Another note for future projects: I should have remembered from my original Clapotis that the slipped-stitch edging doesn’t stretch enough, unless you conciously work it REALLY loosely. Next time, no slipped stitches for me.
