The ruffle yarn is tedious to work with, but lovely. How did people hide the end at the beginning?
I picked this up again, after a long hiatus, on May 1. It’s been going pretty quickly since then. I had only knit the first row of ruffles before that.
The size 7 needles with the Misti Alpaca is a touch too loose, but not enough that I want to redo it. If I make another one, though, I’d use size 6 needles.
Based on others’ comments, I am making this 52 inches long (114 rows of ribbing on each half). Also, rather than doing the ruffle in st st, I did it in garter st, knitting tbl on the “wrong” side.
May 13, 2014: I’m wishing I had made it only 50 inches. I like it, though. I need to block the lace a little, weave in ends, and figure out how to hide the initial tape yarn end.
Also, I knit one fewer row on the second half and did the 3 needle bind off for the last row. Some people didn’t like the way the pattern had you join, but I thought it looked fine.
