The name of the project was inspired by the beautiful yarn, the colours of which remind me of a sunset in Arizona.

03-02-2013:
Knitted two repeats and decided I did not like the small lace border on the top edge. Frogged it - will start again with either just a garter stitch border or a different border I like.

Decided on a knitted-on picot edge.
Changed to (this is just for the picot edge):

R 01 – Knit 5, M1R, K1, PM …
R 02 – … SM, knit to last 4 sts, K 2 tog, yo, k1fb, k1fb
R 03 – BO2, knit 4, M1R, k2, SM …
R 04 – … SM, knit to end of row
R 05 – Knit 5, M1R, k3, SM …
R 06 – As row 2
R 07 – BO2, knit 4, M1R, k4, SM …
R 08 - As row 4 … etc.

5 repeats done. I like it much more with the chosen top edge.

05-02-2013:
17 repeats done, intend to do at least 30. Interesting construction. Very nice outcome.

08-02-2013:
I managed to get 30 repeats out of one ball of Noro. As I was prepared to use a second one, I will make 32-35 repeats. I do like my shawls wide.

I do think that one ball (400m) will not make a shawl, but a shawlette. As with Martina’s Trillian about 500m or 140 grams are needed to make a decent size shawl.

11-02-2013:
Off the needles. I ended up knitting 34 repeats. It is quite large now. Let’s see how it will look after blocking.

Measurements
Unblocked: Wingspan = 54”, tip to top = 28”
Blocked: Wingspan = 64”, tip to top = 37”
