Finally turning the heel on the first sock. It took me a bit to figure out how the shaping worked but now that I’ve got it I like it! At first I was worried that the gusset would make the circumference too loose around the arch but it snugged right up as I made the heel. Onwards and upwards!

Thought I would get in some practice on learning how to do a fitted-gusset heel on a toe-up sock. I have a friend who has done a great many favors for me and should have something nice in return. So, I thought: time to spread the joy of handmade socks by making them for someone who’s not a relative :). This yarn is gorgeous - I love the subtle texture! If these socks come out well I may order more and make a sweater.
