Update October 7th - Now that the Fall weather has arrived, I wear this sweater almost constantly. Love it!
Great yarn, great pattern :).
June 11 Whoohoo! Finished, washed and blocked. I love the look and the fit. I’m just sorry it will be 3 months before I can wear it! I decided to make 3/4 length sleeves -
-
If you want to know how:
I did the 1st decrease per pattern and then knit for 3.5 inches before another 2 stitch decrease on either side of EOR marker, another 6” of stockinette and 1 more decrease, 6 more rows and then started the 1x1 striped rib (3 rounds MC, 1 round CC, 2 rounds MC, 2 rounds CC, 2 rounds MC, 2 rounds CC and then stretchy bind-off in CC. Total sleeve length is 12”
June 4 – Progress! I’ve finished the waist shaping per the pattern but I’m very long waisted and I want a slimmish fit so, after trying on the sweater in progress, I’ve decided to do an additional decrease round (decrease 4 st for a total of 154 stitches) followed by another 7 rows before beginning the increase rounds. I intend to do a ribbed bottom edge with white striping.
May 17 – Cast on with long-tail cast on in a contrasting color (natural) and then knit 1 row in that color before adding the blue. I have a larger stitch gauge with my yarn (4.5 st/inch rather than 5) while the row gauge is good. That said, cowl circumference is at 30” rather than 28 but I tried it on and I’m happy with that. I have a 36 in bust so I’ll just make the size 34 at this gauge and it should come out fine. Considering longer sleeves as others have done but will see how much yarn is left when I finish the body. I hand dyed the main yarn so there’s no getting more in the same dyelot ;)!
