I started this project about the same time as I started listening to the Welcome to Night Vale podcast (which is amazing). The awesome purple colour seemed rather fitting.

I followed the pattern pretty much as written, with my usual change of 4 stitch edging. I did 5 repeats of chart 2, and 9 rows of chart 3 (cheated, and bound off on the RS with other end of yarn). Bound off with crochet loops instead.

This yarn was previously used for this shawl, which I didn’t love, so ripped and re-knit the green into this shawl, which I do love! So the purple has been waiting its turn.

The re-pourposed skein is not anywhere near the weight listed on the ball band (only 96 grams total), partly because I had cut the yarn several times in the original shawl. But I did not weigh the skein when I first got it, so I doubt I actually cut off ~17 grams in woven-in-ends, so it probably wasn’t a full 4 oz.

The yarn also bleed pretty terribly. It already stained the green it was first paired with when I blocked that shawl, and the water from this blocking was still pretty dark purple, despite being at least the third time the yarn has been rinsed. So, that’s a bummer.
