Cast On 96 stitches at 3.5 st/inch.
Knit body to 30 ridges (60 rows)
3 short rows, every 10 ridges or so……
Knit upper body to 26 ridges (52 rows)
3 needle bind off of four (8) stitches on either shoulder near where the sleeve joins.
(Big thanks to Gem for walking me through exactly where/how to do this when my sleep-deprived brain just couldn’t get around it.)
Slipping the first stitch of each row made for super easy seaming of the sleeves.
Increased 11x for hood and knit to 35 ridges. Hooray for grafting! (You can’t see it at all!)
Knit sleeves to 35 ridges. Picked up 53 around and then “absorbed” underarm stitches at beginning and end of each row ‘til gone. Decreased to 28 stitches, with last dec on “row 53”.
I-cord around with loops for buttons. My three year old is very pleased with this. :)
Mittens are these.
Basic instructions for crown can be found here (via my blog).

Vintage leather buttons a gift from my sister♥
A very dedicated papa put the scepter together at about 11pm on the 30th. So sweet.
For Next Time:
Though I’m delighted with the results in this particular case, I think I’d generally prefer this jacket at a tighter gauge.
Binding off the 4 shoulder stitches is brilliant. I think next time I will graft instead of the 3 needle BO.
