MVP DK, in Lava Field and Tusk
Mineville Wool Project’s DK yarn, while arguably more light worsted than DK, is certainly a lighter weight yarn than the pattern calls for, so I am utilizing xsolv’s very helpful notes.
So: provisionally cast on 85 (I used the crochet-chain-over-the-knitting-needle provisional cast on). 20 rows in Tusk, 2 rows in Lava Field, 30 rows in Tusk, 2 rows in Lava Field, repeat. And so on.
Love it so far. Also love the yarn.
Pattern Modifications: Well, different yarn, of course. And I had plenty of yarn, so I repeated the Edging Chart two full times rather than one and a half. I ended up using one gram of the fourth ball of Tusk. Used the Yarn-Over Bind Off from Cast On, Bind Off.
I blocked it to 40” by 42”. Blocking to an actual square escapes me sometimes.

The contrast stripes in the body took 11 grams of yarn. One ball of Tusk made 110 rows (85 sts/row) of garter stitch.
