This is mostly made from yarn I bought in Oamaru in 2014, with a toning yarn for the bands. As I’m using bigger needles than the pattern and thus my gauge is different, I am making the second-to-biggest size. This is a bit large for me, but I want a comfortable fit, not negative ease.

I’ve decided to add pockets on each side over the hips. I slipped about 1/3 of the stitches on each front onto a stitch holder, which will be the stitches for the pocket lining, then provisonally cast on the same number of stitiches + 2. On the next row I did SSK and K2tog at each end of the pocket to tighten it up. Later I will do the visible pocket edge off these stitches.
