Notes

21/03/13: Finished yesterday, and blocked overnight. Blocking helped quite a lot with the curling at the bottom edge, which I was a bit worried about. Virtually no growth at all with blocking, just evened out the stitches and helped the colourwork look less wonky. If I was going to change anything, I would maybe have figured out a way to space out the yoke decreases more evenly, because they are a bit close together. Additionally, I probably would make the Daleks slightly closer together because the floats were pretty long in some spots. Otherwise, I’m pretty happy with it. I am glad I left off the decreases at the top because I think the neckline suits me better like this. All in all, a pretty good project and it didn’t really take all that long. I will be wearing it with pride March 30 for the first new episode!

Making Paper Dolls with Daleks as the pattern around the yoke. Charted a few different versions of Daleks and Cybermen, but I think I’m going to go with big Daleks. Luckily it’s going to take a while before I am up to the yoke.

Finished the corrugated ribbing and am a little concerned about the i-cord cast on, as it is curling a bit. Too early to really worry about it, we’ll see how it looks when I’m wearing it. My goal is to have this done for March 30, the air date for the next new episode. I need to knit faster.

Okay, so I’m finished the colourwork. My chart is not as tall as the Paper Dolls; I stopped stranded knitting at Row 39 and then I worked the Row 40 decreases slightly differently, as I wanted the neckline to be bigger. I only decreased about 15% of the stitches, so ended up with 140. Then I did the short rows as written. Tried on the sweater and I like the fit, so I’m going to start the ribbing now.
