I am a tight crocheter, so I used a J hook, but my block still only came out to 10.5”! I unraveled the last round, re-did it as a DC round, and added another round of DCs.

Like other Ravelers, I found that this block ended up “ruffly”. I can kind of pat it flat. Surely when I join it to the other squares, that won’t be an issue. Most likely the pattern needs to be re-jiggered…. There seem to be too many stitches in one of the rounds.

I liked what other people had done in the CAL where they had made the hearts a different color to emphasize them, so I did that also, but it resulted in a lot of ends for me to work in…. After I finished that part of the block, I read a post where someone mentioned making bobbins for each heart. That would have resulted in 16 less ends to work in. Drat! Oh well, next time….
