Notes

Started with a tubular cast-on for both body and sleeves then increased to k number (140). To accommodate my long torso, I added four sets of short rows to the back of the sweater below the narrowest part of my waist.

MODS
Yoke Shaping: I altered the placement of the decreases. Instead of being equally distributed, I separated them as follows, for eight total decrease points:

  • Four points of decrease at the “normal” raglan locations.
  • Point of decrease at the center front and center back.
  • Point of decrease at the center of each of shoulder sections.

Decreases: I did a centered double decrease every fourth rows, at each of the decrease points. (Slip two together as if to K2tog, K1, and pass both slipped stiches over the previously knit stitch in one motion.)

Stripes: The stripes are worked by using the noro (self-striping) for two rounds, and then the bartletts (oatmeal) for two rounds. To get the vertical lines, I did the decreases on the second noro round, then slipped the raised stitch created by the decrease for the next two bartlett (oatmeal) rounds. On the first noro round, I knit even, and then proceeded to do the decreases on the second noro round.

I did eight total decrease rounds, then worked two sets of short rows with the oatmeal colored yarn across the back of the sweater to raise the neck. I finished the neck off by knitting one row with the noro, and then doing an I-cord bind-off.
