I have made these gloves using a traditional ‘oxo’ pattern design commonly seen in Shetland knitting projects.
The main colour used in these gloves is Nighthawk (1020) which I purchased 2 25g balls of. I love the colour Eggshell (768) which is a very pale blue not unlike the colour of a duck egg shell! This compliments the Nighthawk and other neutral shades of white and greys used in the design.
The gloves are named after Heylor, the small rural community where I live in the parish of Northmavine. There are beautiful and magnificent red granite cliffs, a sandy beach called ‘Da Blade’ and views out Ronas Voe towards ‘Da Faider’ at the mouth of the 7 mile long voe to the Atlantic ocean.
I have shared some pictures of Heylor with you here, so as you get an idea of what I mean!
This is the first pattern that I have made up for purchase which can be bought via a PDF pattern on Ravelry at Emily Poleson Designs.
