Holding the yarn double-stranded to create a heavy-worsted yarn. I love the effect of doubling the Noro. It also reminded me how much I love Noro Silk Garden.

It felt so good to finish that yarn up so fast! My gauge was smaller, so I basically upscaled it 2 sizes more than the large & scaled everything else proportionally. I have 2 more skeins of silk garden lite in my stash. I think I will have to make another one of these--maybe this one will be for the brother, as originally planned.

Finished the main hat on 12/11/10. Let’s see how long it takes for me to add the crochet border. (It actually didn’t take that long!)

Used Size I hook for the border. Doubled the yarn there, too.
