I loved the effect of doubling the Noro Silk Garden Lite so much, I had to make another one!

Whoa there! This went so ridiculously fast. It took me about three hours WHILE I was studying for finals. I still need to do that crochet border though. (It feels great to get this yarn out of my stash! It’s been there for a year and a half now.)

12/13/10--My brother had only one real request for his hat: warmth. Since he moved from Louisiana to Michigan for college, he’s been understanding why people wear knits so much. I can tell he’s freezing his butt off up there. I think for added warmth, I will make a second layer inside this hat with alpaca. (I held the yarn triple to get approximately the right gauge.) That way his head & ears will stay nice and toasty. I know he likes crazy colors and he really wanted a big cheesy pompom on top. This hat is taking more work than I’d expect, but I hope he likes it.

I used 1.76 skeins of Noro Silk Garden Lite to knit the hat. I used the remaining bit of yarn in the pompom for the hat (mixed with some Elsebeth Lavold Silky Wool).
