First one done! Started with 220 fdc like the coaches’ scarves and also did 11 rows. The even numbered stripes (yellow in the case of the first one) look wider than the odd because of the way the bpdc pushes a ridge of the odd (blue) to the back. So, for the next scarf, I’ll do the first two rows in blue, then alternate yellow/blue, then end with two rows in blue again.

I hate working with this yarn - it is stiff and scratchy. I’ll do the next with a 6.0 mm hook and hope it helps, and I’ll definitely wash these with fabric softener before I gift them. Considering I only paid $9 total for these two huge skeins, I shouldn’t complain too much. K is going to join us for the finals, so if I wanted I’d have enough yarn to make one for each of the family plus the one for the co-captain’s Mom!

Second scarf done. I like this color sequence better. I forgot to use the bigger hook for the second one, but I started to on the third (with the second color sequence) and it is much softer.
