The wonderful ruby-red Rowan Magpie Aran is very suitable for this design.

My alterations:
I changed the cable direction of the sleeve pattern in row 9 and 13 and wished I had already done so on the body. It looks better in my opinion.
I raised the back neckline by knitting 8 stitches (the small braid pattern) up to the center neck, joining them with 3-needle-bindoff. The neckband was then picked up from the edge stitches. This ensures a much better fit.

The sweater looks great and I love it. it might have been one or two inches longer, but as shorter sweaters are currently fashionable, that’s okay.
