These mittens are utterly delightful! I love that they are knitted top-down, and I love that they use a winding provisional CO to add the stitches over the thumb gusset. Yes, it was a little weird as I worked through the first one, but the second one went swimmingly and I finished it in record time! (Of course I was glued to the Olympics all day while knitting the second one, so I hardly noticed I was knitting.)

I love the stripes too :)

Knitted thumbs on US3 dpns, and enjoyed the striping of my multi yarn so much that I didn’t bother with the stripe pattern. Shortened the thumb gusset by a couple of rows to accommodate my stubby hands.

Used a total of 180 yards.
