Notes:

• Crown: 9 rounds st st after last increase round
• Stripes: 3 C1, 1 M, 2 C2, 1 M, 3 C1
• Brim: 3 garter st ridges
• Crochet border: start with 2 chains (put a lockable st marker through the second); work 2 half double crochet sts into outside corners, work 1 each side of inside corners; join by putting hook through both arms of 2nd chain, draw up 1 loop, then draw it through the loop on the hook

Next time:

• if using this yarn, go down to US 8s and knit the large - this one was a fraction too big and the fabric of the hat could have been a bit denser.
• make the beginning of the round the center back of the hat and do a better job of jogless stripes
• decrease the earflaps down to 8 sts
