Swatched in the round and flat - gauge achieved with 2.75 for lace and 2.5 for ribbing.

K3togtbl worked as one stitch in circular swatch and as slip 2 purlwise, knit 1 through back loop, pass two slipped stitches over in flat swatch. The substitute looks the same to me, and is much easier and fluid to work, so I’ll be using this alternative in the sweater.

First chart rep complete.

After a long long break on this, I dug it out a couple of weeks ago and am now working on it on at least one day a week (Mondays). Progress will be slow but at least it should be consistent!

So I’ve discovered I’m not really capable of working on a project just one day a week, and this has ending up being my main project since I picked it up again a few weeks back. I want to keep working on it and have nominated it to be my wip for the kate-kal.
Have almost (but not quite) reached the armhole divide. Feels like real progress at last!

I’ve not been very good at updating this project page. I’ve been knitting on this daily (although not for very long) since the start of the Kate kal and I’m now a couple of centimetres from the top of the back section. One nice thing about restricting myself to just this project is no longer needing to consult the chart, which makes me more inclined to pick it up in random moments.

Completed back, moved stitches to waste yarn, picked up front stitches.

Working neckband.

Starting first sleeve. Picked up stitches using a 2.25mm needle to make it easier - but this was a mistake as the join is too tight. For the next sleeve I’ll use 2.5 or gauge-size (2.75mm).
Picked up more stitches than the stated in pattern and decreased on next rnd.

Knitting that sleeve took ages! I finished the lace on May 24 - so a full month after starting it - and then took a week off to work on Birlinn.
Now knitting the rib cuff.
