Sizing
Previously I knit the 6-12 mo size exactly to gauge and measurements, which fit my 50th percentile 10-month-old perfectly. For this I used thicker yarn and wanted to go up a size to grow into, so I bought the paid pattern with more sizes. But! It was developed for a smaller yarn weight so the gauge is different. Since I was using a bigger yarn, I couldn’t get gauge without the yarn looking dumb, so I reverted back to this free pattern with its slightly larger gauge and lengthened the body a bit for more of a coat look. I forgot to lengthen the arms, but shorter arms are handy for babies anyway.

Bunnies
During color work I spread the sts as far apart on the needles as possible so the floats wouldn’t be tight and it turned out great for my first time ever! I only wrapped the yarn in the middle of the longer black spaces and the floats are fine and the wraps don’t show through too bad even though they’re fluffy. Machine washed and dried for softness, then brushed the bunnies out to fluff them up.

Pattern
The sewn bind off is great, but man it takes forever. Err on the side of more yarn.
Love this simple pattern. It fits and wears great even in cheap acrylic and is a practical staple in baby’s wardrobe. Making one in every color for every baby I know, lol. Want one for myself too!
